Australian Government launches FinTech Advisory Committee
By Jim Bulling and Michelle Chasser
The Australian Federal Government is getting behind the Australian FinTech market with the establishment of a FinTech Advisory Committee to help make Australia a FinTech leader in the Asia Pacific region.
At the Committee’s first meeting held on 24 February 2016, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull told attendees that the Australian financial services industry has already seen great examples of innovation and the government wants to be involved and supportive.
The Committee’s 12 members represent a broad spectrum of the FinTech industry including marketplace lending, payment systems, banks, venture capital firms and professional advisors.
